Beginning of the show, Michael Cole interviewed Kofi Kingston, who challenged Kevin Owens to a match at Money in the Bank. Owens interrupted and accepted, and the two argued until Xavier Woods attacked Owens from behind. Owens knocked him out with a superkick and fled before Kingston could help.
1. Becky Lynch defeated Bayley. Bayley is the first woman announced for Smackdown’s half of the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Lynch countered a top rope elbow drop with her knees and locked in the Disarmer for the submission victory. After the match, Charlotte Flair attacked both women.
Later Aleister Black said spooky things and later The Hardy Boyz relinquished the Smackdown Tag Team Championship due to Lars Sullivan attacking and injuring Jeff, who will require leg surgery. Lars Sullivan showed up to attack them again, and also attacked R-Truth, who was attempting to make the save.

Then Finn Bálor, Ali, Andrade, and Randy Orton were declared as represention from Smackdown in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
Mandy Rose then told Sonya Deville that they would get an opportunity in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match, but only one of them. Deville agreed to let Rose have the spot.
Later Roman Reigns cut a promo about punching Vince McMahon in the face. Shane McMahon interrupted and put Roman into a handicap match against new Smackdown acquisitions The B-Team, with Elias as the special ringside enforcer.
3. Handicap Match: Roman Reigns defeated The B-Team. Reigns was about to win after a Superman Punch to Curtis Axel, but Elias pulled the referee out of the ring. Reigns took out Elias with a Superman Punch and speared Axel to win.

Later Carmella and Ember Moon are the final two entrants in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
